Let’s Explore Engineering Together!
The host(s) will visually explore a few basic engineering concepts, then share examples of the various ways technology can be applied. The presentation will be interactive with the audience.
Vertex Pharmaceuticals
Visitors will have the opportunity to construct a lung model and learn about the respiratory system and how the lungs function. Visitors will also be able to make some fake mucous (aka slime) and learn why this sticky mucous clogs the lungs. Scientists will demonstrate how Cl- channels work and everyone will have the chance at winning their very own Cl- ball.
Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego's booth will host a variety of activities that come from the diverse set of STEM programming we currently offer across our clubhouses. This includes such topics and Nanotechnology, Biology, Physics, Food science, Electronics and Robotics.
Brain Development Imaging Lab at San Diego State University
The Brain Development Imaging Lab at SDSU studies both typical and atypical brain development, with a specific focus on understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). At our booth, visitors will have the opportunity to see images of the brain, learn about brain function, and learn how various brain imaging techniques, including MRI, MEG, and EEG, work and what they reveal about the brain. They will do this through kid friendly activities involving model brains, coloring worksheets, and videos!
Univision Radio
10 x 30 booth (2 10x10 booths) radio activities.
Participants will be able to see how radio works - they'll have an opportunity to record their radio commercials and hear themselves. We playback the audio to sound live. Many of these will actually be featured on the radio.
Point Loma Nazarene University
Our booth will feature interactive activities for children K-8, dealing with topics in biology, chemistry and physics

International Bridge Technologies, Inc.
Our practicing bridge engineers will share their knowledge and passion for structural engineering, which draws on math, physics, design, art, materials, and construction. In addition to illustrative exhibits, we provide an engaging hands-on model bridge building activity that is designed to introduce youth of all ages to basic structural engineering concepts. Bridge model kits are used, consisting of paint-mixing sticks, binder clips, chains, S-hooks, and large bottles of water for load testing.
