Scientists and engineers from BP provide students an opportunity to see how hands-on, interactive science and engineering experiments can be fun and cool. And kids can have one-on-one conversations with BP scientists and engineers, learn about BP’s technology program and career development in BP.
Explore basic concepts of arch, cable-stayed, and precast segmental bridges. Attendees will construct and load small-scale models to understand how different types of bridges function.
The theme of our booth will be Bridging Biology and Engineering to turn DNA into Medicine. We plan to have 2 stations within our booth; the 1st will be geared toward elementary school age children and the 2nd toward middle school/high school aged children.
Hands on science and engineering activities to engage your brain and fun!
The Dragons are the only FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team in the world to apply green energy to the competition. The students will display and discuss their solar charging station that they use to keep their robot charged during competition. The Dragons will also provide a hands-on activity where visitors to the booth will drive a FIRST Tech Challenge robot, and try to score "points" in a simulation of a FIRST competition.
At our booth builders of all ages will design and create something that might fly or roll. After designing, they will test the prototype on a wind machine and redesign as needed.
We will set up a display of our alternative garden systems (four vegetable towers ) as well as demonstrate our plan to host a community farmer's Market 1-2 times per month. There is also another student who will set up a video / prototype model of a "soccer shoe cooling device." We would like to request a 10x20 space if possible.
