Interactive booth covering nuclear fusion, states of matter, electricity & magnetism, and electrical energy production. Demonstrations will include neon and argon plasmas, liquid nitrogen rapid phase change, an electromagnetic can launcher, eddy current production with levitating magnets, plus much more. Discussions about the state of fusion research will also take place.
LPA
Students from the Monarch School’s elementary STEAM club along with LPA designers, architects and engineers will lead visitors in a tower building competition that explores the integrated approach to structures through architecture and engineering.
Teams will have several minutes to design and build block towers that will then be seismically tested on a shake table. The team who’s tower stands longest wins!
The San Diego River Park Foundation
Kids get to practice hands-on science by observing bugs collected from the San Diego River! Kids can identify the bugs under a microscope and use the identification to help determine the health of the River!
Goldstone Apple Valley Radio Telescope Project
The Goldstone Apple Valley Radio Telescope Project (GAVRT) is a partnership between NASA, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and the Lewis Center for Educational Research, a K-12 Charter School in Apple Valley, California. GAVRT trains educators on the basics of radio astronomy, technical topics pertinent to the project’s science observation campaigns, and telescope operations. Once trained, educators schedule time on the radio telescope for their class to collect data on a strong radio source.

In our booth, our guests will be able to learn about out what Code Ninjas is all about; a new center where kids ages 7-14 can come to have fun while learning how to code. Our guests will be able to see samples of the curriculum we offer and will be able to see demonstrations of flying coding drones, as well as hands-on robot kits that kids can put together to code with simple commands.
United States Naval Academy STEM Center
Engage with midshipmen from the U.S. Naval Academy while they provide a wide spectrum of hands on STEM modules from a multitude of technical subjects including aerodynamics, chemistry, fluid mechanics, physics, robotics, logic puzzles, electricity, and others.
